The most famous classic winter event of all is now in its 16th year and this year the Challenge is the 2nd round of the 2005 FIA Regularity Rally Championship. The event is organised by the most experienced team in Classic Rallying, under the Directorship of Jeremy Dickson.
The 2005 Winter Challenge has two starts - The UK start will be from the Historic Motorsport Show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, a UK prologue will then follow which will have its own awards. The European start will be from the glamorous French resort of Le Touquet.
The UK starters will arrive at Le Touquet on Sunday evening and on Monday morning all cars will set out from here for a common route to Monte-Carlo. The Clubmans category is designed for newcomers and those who want to take it that little bit easier, perhaps because they have an older car or just want to break themselves in gently. For experienced competitors we have the Masters Category. This will be a tougher route with more difficult navigation, two evening sections and a revised penalty structure for some sections.
