When the first Pirelli Classic Marathon started from Londonís Tower Bridge on a bright sunny Sunday in June,1988 the organisers and competitors could little guess at how the classic rally scene would flourish.
The ambitious 1988 route drove across Europe to Cortina in the Dolomites, and back again, for a prize-giving at the RAC Club in Pall Mall, founding an event - and a whole scene - that has driven into the record books...
This year, for the 15th edition, the Classic Marathon is under the organisational grip of Jeremy Dickson. Jeremy was Chief Marshal on the founding event of 1988 and has been a key official on nearly every event since those early days. With the support of expert route designer Keith Baud, and a whole team of very experienced marshals, officials and helpers we are confident that the 2003 route to Pamplona will see the 15th Classic Marathon maintain a fine tradition.
