The 22nd Classic Marathon & Three Legs of Mann

January 2012 update

A New Year brings the prospect of a busy programme of rallies from the Classic Rally Association in 2012.

The calendar kicks off in March with the Three Legs of Mann Classic Reliability Trial - a superb weekend of rallying on the Isle of Man. Fred Bent and John Bateson have put the finishing touches to an exciting new route and the entry list is filling up with some of the top crews in classic rallying out to do battle >> Read more

In June, we head to Ireland for the 24th Classic Marathon. Anthony Preston is currently in the final route planning stages and reports that he has received fantastic support from the local motor clubs and helpers to bring you some exciting new regularities and test venues >> Read more

In September, it is classic rallying with a different twist as Keith Baud has been busy seeking out mountain passes you never knew existed in Switzerland and Italy for the second running of the Classic Mountain Challenge - a unique concept in the classic rallying world.

The CRA year ends on a high in November with the welcome return of the Rally of the Tests, which traces a testing new route from Torquay to Chester.

Three Legs of Mann - 15 - 17 March 2012
After the success of the inaugral event in 2010, we are returning to the Isle of Man for the second Three Legs of Mann Classic Reliability Trial. Clerk of the Course, Fred Bent and Manx resident, John Bateson are once again working with the local motor clubs to provide a testing weekend event suitable for expert and novice crews alike on this iconic rallying island. Following Scrutineering on Thursday evening, the rally takes place on Friday and Saturday and packs in twenty five special tests (including a number on closed roads), around twenty regularities and a challenging evening section >> Read more

The 24th Classic Marathon - 23 - 29 June 2012

The Classic Mountain Challenge - 2 - 7 September 2012
The 2nd running of the Classic Mountain Challenge - this unique event in the classic motoring world pioneered by Keith Baud, will explore the mountains roads of Italy and Switzerland.

The 11th Rally of the Tests - 8 - 11 November 2012
The 2012 season rounds off with the return of the Rally of the Tests and the promise of a challenging new route from Torquay through classic rally terrain in the West Country and Wales to the finish in Chester.
